Song description/Story behind the song: LuckySky Music recording artist Tori Martin brings an authenticity of a true country music lover to her songwriting and live performances. Her next release, Abilene, is a haunting song about lost love and moving on in spite of old memories and unrequited feelings. The title of her new release was inspired by the long ride to an Abilene radio station while Tori was on radio tour. Some of her favorite cowriters, hitmakers Kirsti Manna and Bill DiLuigi, and her producer Bill Warner were along for the ride. The 180 miles from Fort Worth and a sweeping Texas landscape were the perfect setting to inspire and collaborate. By the time they reached one of west Texas’s windiest cities, the song was complete. The lyrics mention places in Texas where the singer escapes the memories of love lost in Abilene where both staying and leaving are equally difficult. It’s a classic sad country song with a mid tempo and modern traditional sound. Tori Martin/LuckySky Music will release Abilene to all DSP outlets in addition to Texas radio where she will follow up her 2024 TRRR #1 song, Lost In The Country.
